The Pod was created to meet the growing need: children who don’t fit comfortably into traditional settings deserve a place where they can thrive.

We are passionate about providing inclusive, trauma-informed support that puts the individual at the centre of everything we do. Our approach is calm, flexible and responsive, recognising that ever individual’s needs are different.

Who We Cater For
The Pod, Weymouth is an inclusive space created for children, young people and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including neurodivergence (diagnosed, and undiagnosed), those with physical disabilities, communication differences, sensory processing disorders and/or developmental delays.

We also cater for individuals who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) such as school based anxiety.

We also welcome siblings and recognise that families need support too. The Pod is a safe, understanding environment where individuals can bounce, play and connect in a way that suits their individual needs – and where parents can carers can find community, support, and a space to breathe.
Our Mission
To provide inclusive, accessible play opportunities – To create a safe and nurturing environment where children, young people and adults with additional needs can bounce, play and explore in ways that suit their individual needs.

To build confidence and independence – To support in the development of physical skills, communication, emotional regulation and self-belief through structure and free play opportunities including rebound therapy and movement based sessions.

To reduce isolation for families – To create a welcoming space where parents and carers can connect with others who understand their journey, share experiences and feel less alone.

To promote belonging and community connection – To foster meaningful friendships and peer interaction so that every individual and their family feels valued, included and part of something bigger.

To remove barriers to participation – to actively address financial, social and accessibility barriers so that families who need support most can access high quality inclusive provision.

To support whole-family wellbeing – To provide not just a safe place for children young people an adults to thrive, but a space where parents and carers can pause, breathe and feel supported.
